   IBPS Clerk 2025 Eligibility,Pattern & Syllabus

Eligibility

To be eligible for the IBPS Clerk 2025 examination, candidates must meet the following criteria:

1. Age Limit:

  • Minimum Age: 20 years
  • Maximum Age: 28 years
  • Age Calculation Date: As of July 1, 2025
  • Date of Birth: Candidates must have been born between July 2, 1996, and July 1, 2004. 

2. Educational Qualification:

  • Required Degree: A Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. 
  • Proficiency: Working knowledge of computers is essential.
  • Language Proficiency: Candidates must be proficient in the official language of the state or union territory for which they are applying.

3. Nationality:

  • Must be a citizen of India.

4. Other Criteria:

  • Local Language Proficiency: Candidates should have studied the local language of the state or union territory at the 10th or 12th standard level.

The preliminary exam of IBPS Clerk CRP XV is an online exam testing a candidate based on their aptitude, intellect and English. Both the Preliminary Exam and Mains Exam will be conducted bilingually, i.e. both in English and in Hindi. There are three sections in total and the candidate must clear the cut-off of each section to proceed to the main exam round. In the latest update by IBPS, IBPS Clerk Mains Exam will now constitute 190 questions that need to be completed in a time frame of 160 minutes.

Previously, Computer Aptitude and Reasoning Ability Sections used to be conducted separately. But, in the recent update by IBPS, both these sections are amalgamated together and will constitute 50 questions that need to be solved in a time duration of 45 minutes. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. Let’s have a look at the Exam Pattern for IBPS Clerk Mains. The 2nd phase exam or mains exam is scoring in nature.

IBPS Clerk Syllabus 2025 for Prelims and Mains Exam

The syllabus for Numerical Ability / Quantitative Aptitude and English Language is the same for mains and preliminary exams. In addition to these two, the other subjects are General / Financial Awareness and Reasoning & Computer Knowledge. General Awareness is based on the Banking Sector awareness.
